    1. What Wall Street sells doesn’t work, and
    2. The typical financial advisor grossly overcharges his clients.

While there were some investment advisory firms that recognized that Wall Street’s interests were rarely aligned with investors’ interests, there were – and still are – barely a small handful of firms that were willing to offer their clients a fair fee structure.

Hi! I’m Mike. And I’ve been showing my clients a better way to invest for the better part of two decades. I make no claims to any esoteric skills or “insider” knowledge; just an insatiable desire to do the right thing for my clients.

What, you ask, is the right thing? The details are spelled out in the various pages of this website but, essentially, the right thing involves following what the objective evidence says about maximizing investors’ odds of success and doing so for a price that is fair.

A price and an approach to investment management that maps out your road to riches rather than your advisor’s.

I received my MBA, with distinction, from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. I also possess the Certified Financial Planner™, Certified Exit Planning Advisor™, and Certified Business Appraiser™ designations.

But perhaps most importantly, I’m a curious son-of-a-gun. I spent many years researching how the markets work (and even wrote a book about my findings, the contents of which you’ll find scattered throughout this website).

I was an “evidence-based” advisor long before the term was invented. Because it was the clearest path to my clients’ success as investors.

​You’ll probably find that I’m the least sales-y advisor that you’ve ever spoken with. In fact, I’m frequently referred to as a “finance geek.”

But I’m also quite picky when it comes to taking on new clients. The quality of my life is directly proportional to the satisfaction of my clients. And if you don’t have a deep understanding of why I make the recommendations that I make, you will never be a satisfied client.
